Stop, Drop and Roll up your Blankets
In winter, there’s nothing cozier than a snuggly
blanket draped invitingly over the corner of a couch, or along the end of a
bed. But as the chilly season draws to a close, those same blankets can start
to feel like clutter. When it comes to packing blankets away in such a way that
they won’t spontaneously unpack themselves (sneaky things, blankets), I like to
use 2 methods… the Fold-and-Tuck and the Roll-and-Stuff.
The
Fold-and-Tuck Method
Fold
the blanket length ways until it is the desired width, making sure that all
edges are on the inside.

Next,
create a flap on the one side by folding over the one end (the bulkier the
blanket, the bigger this flap will have to be)
Then,
systematically fold the remaining side up towards the flap, and then tuck it
inside. Voila – neatly folded blanket!

The Roll-and-Stuff Method
We’ve
all got old material shopping bags that we received as promos, but don’t really
use for shopping anymore. Haul them out, it’s time to repurpose them

Fold the comforter or blanket in half lengthways and then in half width-ways so that it is more-or-less square.
Next,
fold in the sides to make it into a rectangle such that the short edge will be
the same as the depth of the bag that you’re planning to use.

Then,
from the short side with the edges, roll the comforter or blanket as tightly as
you can until you have a roll.
Lastly,
stuff it in the bag!

Now
you can easily and neatly store your bundled blankets and compact comforters on
shelves or in ottomans – and you’ll be able to pull one out without the rest
following!
